[ARCHIVED] May 3: BRP (bulky rigid plastic) Collection

Area residents are encouraged to bring plastic flower pots, laundry baskets, pet carriers, and large plastic toys (e.g. Little Tykes brand) to a May 3rd bulky rigid plastic collection and swap event sponsored by Northampton’s Reuse Committee. These items are not permitted in the normal household recycling mix, as the material is not in high demand. PVC pipes, flexible or crinkly plastic (e.g. hoses, seedling multi-packs), sharps, and containers that once held hazardous material will not be accepted. All collected plastic items will be available to the public free of charge; remaining items will be sent to a regional recycling facility.

Sign up for automatic notification of collection and reuse events via the City website's Notify Me feature (select Public Works), or join the Reuse Committee's notification mailing list by sending a request to reusenorthampton@gmail.com.
