[ARCHIVED] April 26: Community Tag Sale & Swap Meet

How does one ensure that discards find productive lives beyond the waste bin with the least amount of effort? The Reuse Committee’s Second Annual Community Tag Sale and Swap Meet on Saturday, April 26 may be the answer.

The rain or shine event will be held in Smith Vocational High School’s rear parking lot from 9 am to Noon. Sellers pre-register via the Northampton Department of Public Works; a $10 non-refundable participation fee applies. After that it is a matter of loading up a vehicle and setting wares out in an assigned space. Information and registration forms are available at www.northamptonma.gov/reduce-waste.

While there are a limited number of spots for sellers, everyone is welcome to browse--and purchase--at the event.

In the past, some sellers have offered select items to participants free of charge. It is a great way to encourage reuse of durable items that may have low monetary value. This spring, the Reuse Committee is encouraging all sellers to offer a selection of free items.
