The Northampton Health Department has announced that a rabies immunization clinic for dogs and cats will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Smith Vocational School, 80 Locust Street, Northampton at the rear of Building D. State Law (Section 145B, Chapter 140) governing rabies immunization, requires that all dogs and cats six (6) months of age or older be vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian. Dr. Maureen Ricksgers, DVM from The Cat Hospital will be administering the vaccine.
Time: Cost:
Dogs 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. $15.00 per animal
Cats 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Eligibility:
Animals 3 months or older who have never received the vaccine are eligible to receive 1 yr rabies vaccine.
With proof of last rabies vaccination:
Animals who received rabies vaccine within one year of clinic date are eligible for 3 year booster vaccine.
Animals vaccinated in 2012 with a three year vaccine must be revaccinated this year and are eligible for 3 year booster vaccine.
