City Council Seeks to Fill Vacancy on Community Preservation Committee

NORTHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL SEEKS TO FILL VACANCY ON COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE

 

The Community Preservation Committee is responsible for making recommendations for how Community Preservation Act (CPA) funds are spent in the four CPA program areas: Community Housing, Historic Preservation, Open Space, and Recreation.

Per Charter §5-4, vacancies in elected positions on this committee shall be filled by the City Council. A person appointed to fill such vacancy shall serve only until a person is elected at the next regular city election and is sworn to the office.   

Anyone interested is asked to fill out an application for appointment on the city’s website by 5 p.m. Thursday, September 29th.  Interviews will be conducted by members of the City Services Committee, which will make a recommendation for appointment to the full City Council. The City Council shall act to fill the vacancy at its regular meeting on Thursday, October 6, 2022.
