A.

Announcement of Public Hearings to Consider Laying Out Portions of Finn Street and North Street

Pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 82, Section 21, the City Council Committee on City Services will hold public hearings in City Council Chambers on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. and 4:35 p.m., respectively, to consider laying out portions of the following public ways:
  • Finn Street (from Prospect Street to King Street)
  • North Street (from King Street to Market Street)

Any person interested or wishing to be heard thereon should appear at the time and place designated.

Announcement of Public Hearing regarding FY2020 Tax Levy

The Northampton City Council will hold a public hearing on Thursday, November  7, 2019, at 7:05 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 212 Main Street, Northampton, MA to discuss the percentages of the local tax levy to be borne by each class of real and personal property within the City of Northampton for FY 2020 in accordance with Chapter 40, Section 56 of the Massachusetts General Laws.  Information regarding this issue will be available for public inspection in the City Clerk’s office on or before November 5, 2019 after 12:00 p.m.

Announcement regarding Executive Session Minutes

The Open Meeting Law (M.G.L. Chapter 30A, Section 22) requires public bodies to regularly review minutes of Executive Session. The Council President has determined that, since all FY2016-FY2019 and FY2020-FY2022 contracts have been settled, executive session minutes of February 21, 2019, March 21, 2019, June 5, 2019 and August 15, 2019 may now be released. Due to pending litigation, nondisclosure of  executive session minutes of November 16, 2017 and September 19, 2019 is still warranted.
