Municipal Workplace Wellness Program

The City of Northampton is a workplace that genuinely cares about and encourages employee health and well-being.

The city will do this by increasing awareness of factors and resources contributing to well-being, and to support and inspire employees to make healthy choices and take responsibility for their own health.

In an effort to support all municipal employees in trying to improve their health and happiness, we are implementing a Workplace Wellness Program that is designed specifically to meet city employee interests and needs. You may have seen our brochure included with your pay stub this week.

Starting this year we will be partnering with several area fitness centers to offer corporate rate pricing. These promotions will start on February 1. Please click the following link to get more information about these promotional offers

In addition to discounted gym memberships, we are also working with local fitness instructors to offer free fitness classes, such as yoga and Tai Chi, during the week and weekends at various City parks starting this spring. Follow this link to gain access to our events calendar.  Here, we’ll post the schedule for fitness classes, including details on where weekly classes will be held and who the instructors will be. This calendar will also be a place where you can check out social outings that we'll soon start scheduling for the upcoming year.

It’s our hope that everyone who wants to, can benefit from this Wellness Program, not only by getting more exercise but also by being able to spend time with new and old friends from the workplace.

If you have any ideas or events that you’d like to see scheduled, please let us know!
