Municipal Workplace Wellness Program
The City of Northampton is a workplace that genuinely cares about and encourages employee health and well-being.
The city will do this by increasing awareness of factors and resources contributing to well-being, and to support and inspire employees to make healthy choices and take responsibility for their own health.
It’s our hope that everyone who wants to, can benefit from this Wellness Program, not only by getting more exercise but also by being able to spend time with new and old friends from the workplace.
If you have any ideas or events that you’d like to see scheduled, please let us know!

Friday, June 7, marks the start of Fit4U employee wellness walking group. Every Friday in June at noon we will meet outside the Health Department, 212 Main Street, to depart for a mile long walk during lunchtime. Walks will be scheduled in a variety of locations and for those walks that are not downtown, the Parks and Recreation mini-bus will pick up walkers at the Health Department at noon and the DPW immediately following.
- June 7th; Fitzgerald Lake
- June 14th; Downtown walking loop
- June 21st; Look Park
- June 28th; Smith College
If you plan to take part please reply to this email and let us know if you will be riding the mini-bus so we can make sure there is adequate space. We will only stop at DPW if there are confirmed participants.
If you are meeting the group at Fitzgerald Lake please use the North Farms Road entrance, there is small parking lot available.
* A weekly email will be sent out as a reminder, with a map of the walk and instructions where to meet if you decide to join in but are not taking the bus.
