The Northampton Community Swap Shop will open on April 8, 2017 and will be located at the Glendale Road Transfer Station- 170 Glendale Road, Florence. The ReCenter will be open on Saturday mornings from 8am-11:30am through October 2017. Residents may access the swap shop with a current Northampton transfer station permit, or with the purchase of a $10 annual ReCenter season pass. Permits are available for purchase at the DPW offices on Locust Street and both transfer stations. ReCenter passes may be purchased at the DPW and the Glendale Road Transfer Station.
Because of a zero cost/zero waste pledge to the City of Northampton, the volunteers who operate the swap shop can accept only those items which are highly popular or recyclable, are desired by regional reuse partners, or for which a disposal fee has been pre-paid.
The ReCenter opened in April 2014. It is operated by the Department of Public Works’ ReUse Committee, with guidance and assistance from DPW employees.

Annual ceremony held at the Leeds Veteran Memorial Park on Florence Street (Opposite the Leeds School). Activities will include a color guard, a wreath laying ceremony, the playing of Taps and reading of The Gettysburg Address by a Leeds Elementary student. Reverend David Whitely Chaplain at the VA medical Center will give the Invocation. All are welcome and encouraged to come and show support and gratitude for veterans and their service to our country. The event also includes a new memorial dedication to the founder of Leeds Veterans Memorial Park, Rene "MAC" LeVay.

The parade departs from Trinity Row Park in Florence, continues through the center of Florence, down Park Street, circles down Pine Street, turning on to Maple Street, and back to the center, ending at the cemetery on Park Street. Activities include a speaking ceremony at the Cemetery on Park Street, and will feature Florence resident and Vietnam Veteran James Spencer, a wreath laying ceremony, and the playing of Taps. JFKeyes and the Northampton High School Band will perform.
