Parks & Rec Soccer FALL 2020

Kindergarten, Boys grades 1 & 2, Girls Grades 1 & 2

This is a fun, instructional program run by the Parks & Recreation Department utilizing parent volunteers to teach the fundamentals of the game of soccer. 

  • Each child will be placed on a team.
  • Every player will receive a Soccer ball for use for the entire program.
  • Masks/Facial covering must be worn at all times.
  • There will be no games or scrimmages. The program will consist of fun skills and drills that will allow physical distancing.
  • The program runs for 7 weeks at Florence Recreation Fields (157 Spring St.).
  • If you are signed up, you will receive an email or call from a coach after the coaches meeting.
  • The coach’s all meet the week before the program to receive their rosters and information. They will then email or call their players to let you know what time and field your child meets on the first day, Saturday, September 12.

    Dates: Sept. 12 - Oct. 24
    Days: Saturdays
    Time: Morning and early afternoon, one hour time slots starting at 9:00am
    Schedule: The schedule will be sent and posted closer to the start date of the program
  • Residents have priority registration through August 31. Non-residents can register starting on September 1.
  • Fee: $50, non-residents add $10

Recreation Soccer for grades 3-6

We will be offering a skills based program for this age group. Teams in this program will not participate in games or scrimmages against other towns. The program will focus on conditioning and drills that will allow for social distancing.
Players will be required to wear masks while participating in the program.

    • Girls 3/4
    • Boys 3/4
    • Coed 5/6
  • Days and Times: This program will meet twice a week on a weeknight. The times and days will be set around the coaches availability.

  • Fee: $50, non-residents add $10
    Residents have priority registration through August 31. Non-residents can register starting on September 1.

    Coaches are needed: This program is dependent on finding coaches to run each team. Please email John Knowles (jknowles@northamptonma.gov) if you are interested in volunteering.
