Pioneer Valley Connect / Western MA Connect Pioneer Valley Connect and Berkshire Connect have merged to form Western MA Connect, a regional collaboration of business, government, and institutional partners working to create universal, affordable, and reliable high capacity broadband services in the Pioneer Valley. Current initiatives include: Preferred provider partnership with local telecommunications provider Crocker Communications, I-91 fiber conduit project with MassHighway, wireless network pilot project in unserved communities, and leading the build-out of a high speed broadband network throughout western Massachusetts.
The region currently awaits legislative approval of Governor Patrick's $25 million bill targeted to bring broadband infrastructure to the unserved communities of the Commonwealth.
