Mayor's Presentation on DPW Facility Study Proposal
Mayor Higgins presented information to the City Council at its meeting on June 17th, 2010 about the current state of the Department of Public Works facility and reasons for beginning the design and study process for a new facility. Included are photos of current DPW buildings and a comparison with other capital projects' study and design timelines and project costs.

The City of Northampton is partnering with Blackboard Connect CTY to launch a city-to-resident notification system. With this service, Northampton's public safety officials can send voice messages to thousands of residents and businesses within minutes with specific information about emergencies and time-sensitive local community issues. The Blackboard Connect CTY service will supplement our current public safety/first responder services. Blackboard Connect may be familiar to some Northampton residents; the Northampton Public Schools have been using its school notification services to keep parents posted about snow days and other important school related announcements.
The city invites all residents, business owners and property owners in Northampton to participate. We know that your personal information is important; rest assured it will not be shared with anyone. Visit the Happy Frog on the corner of Main St and Center St, in the heart of downtown. Sculpted by renowned local artist Lu Stubbs, the Happy Frog pedestal contains a bank where donations can be made to help the hungry of our community. All contributions to the Hungry Frog go directly to providing meals for those in need. Bring your family!
